Introduction

This Work Readiness Programme has been developed to assist learners to enhance key skills for the work environment with the aim of supporting them in their own career development This allows learners to gain precise skills and knowledge to perform and teaches valuable skills that will assist learners in not only feeling empowered but more confident in what they do as well. The work readiness programme includes bite-sized microlearning to allow the learner to still fulfil their daily learnership duties and progress in their formal training while improving their readiness for the workplace. responsibilities.

Who Should Enrol

This programme is only accessible to learners from the relevant  FPD SHIPS projects.

Course Design

This programme is offered online which gives participants the opportunity to study in their own time and at their own speed. It is recommended that you spend a minimum of 2 hours per week in order to complete the programme within 6-9 months. This will allow learners to reap the ultimate benefit of the programme culminating in a module to help you secure further employment. It is however important to keep in mind that distance education requires strict self-discipline and routine if you are to be successful.

Module 1: Personal Effectiveness Skills

  • Dealing with change in the workplace
  • Assertiveness and self-confidence
  • Emotional intelligence

Module 2: Customer Service and Communication skills

  • Meeting internal customer needs

Module 3: Professional Effectiveness Skills

  • Dealing with harassment in the workplace
  • Basic project management skills

Module 4: Business Communication and Writing Skills
