Entry Requirements

The admission requirement is a Grade 12 National Senior Certificate with a minimum of a 30% pass in language of instruction, OR an NQF Level 4 qualification.

Course Design

This course is based on the adult education approach, which means that delegates will need to take full responsibility for their learning.

The programme consists of the following learning components: 

  • Distance e-learning (self-study) modules,
  • Various assessment tasks.

Learning Outcomes

On achieving this qualification, a learner will be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic computer literacy.
  • Develop a self-management plan that encompasses good time management and presenting oneself professionally in a business context.
  • Apply effective group, team management and leadership skills.
  • Describe business operations and how they contribute to business success.
  • Produce a project plan and apply project management principles.
  • Communicate effectively to business stakeholders.
  • Apply marketing techniques to perform effective marketing.

Assessment

The programme includes the following assessment opportunities:

  • Twenty-one (21) formative assessment - online multiple-choice question (MCQs) test.
  • Four (4) summative modular assessments (individual assignments) in form of work-related assignments.
  • Four (4) exams which will be in the form of a summative assessments that will require a practical application of the knowledge gained from each module as well as one (1) online examination in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire.

Certification

Successful participants will be awarded with a Higher Certificate in Management.
