HIV/AIDS has a severe effect on the workplaces of South Africa as well as our economy. Absenteeism, sick leave, staff turnaround, and early deaths create lots of pressure on the workplace and staff morale (HIV/AIDS Technical Assistance Guidelines KZN).
The work environment must be supportive and without discrimination. Prevention strategies promoting a safe working environment for employees should be followed and care and support for those employees living with HIV/AIDS. This course aims to create awareness of HIV/AIDS, discuss the impact of HIV in the workplace, and give guidance on the workplace strategy to follow, including policies, programs, monitoring, and evaluation.
The course is developed for all professionals and non-professionals in a workplace environment.

Participants are assessed by means of multiple-choice questionnaires at the end of each module. In order to be successful a pass rate of 50% is required.
FPD will award successful participants with a certificate on completion of this course should they successfully complete the assessment process.
